Workshops
At The Art Academy we end every term with an exciting workshop. We aim to broaden the scope of the children who attend The Art Academy by introducing them to a wide range of techniques.
Scrapbook Binding
The students were taught how to bind their own books. These were then used to display their artwork or to use as a scrapbook of their choice.
Mug Painting
The staff demonstrated to our students different ideas for decorating mugs. The students then designed a mug and decorated it as they wished. After painting the mug thay were then glazed, fired and then ready for use.
Glass Painting
The students enjoyed learning about Tiffany. Using their new found knowledge they then produced their own glass painting on a photoframe to hang up at home.
Marbeling
All the students had great fun experimenting with differnt inks to create beautiful and original sheets of paper.
Acrylic painting on canvas
Using acrylic paints the students painted canveses, details were added using oil pastel. The students learned how to mix different colours and blend with paint.
Ceramic Masks
In the spirit of Purim, the students rolled slabs and created masks out of clay. The masks were decorated with different colour glazes and then fired.
Printing
The students had a fantstic time making prints. Drawing chosen images into the polystyrene sheets and then they pressed them into the printing paint, to create bold and exciting images.
